Favorite Financial Tip: "Every so often, check your current cable provider's new promotions. Many times providers start charging you more and more after the first 12 months or so of being a customer (thanks for being loyal). Sometimes you can cancel your current arrangement and sign up for their new promotion at a lower rate, because they would rather have you stay than switch. All you have to do is call and ask! Although, you should always make sure they won't charge you to cancel and re-up, before cancelling anything. You could possibly save quite a bit of money each month and use that savings for something that will improve your family's future!"
"Most importantly, KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid)."
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and CFP® in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements.

Ben, a native of Riverside, is heavily invested in the future of his city and its people. This led him to enroll at CSU San Bernardino to pursue a Bachelor’s of Science in Management. While in college he continued to support the community through nonprofit organizations such as Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA). Despite the national financial crisis at the time, Ben firmly believed that his calling was to provide his community with financial education and guidance. He went on to join Waddell & Reed in 2012. When he is not serving his clients, Ben enjoys spending his time sailing with his wife Hilary, his daughter Louise, and the newest addition to the family, his son Paul!
Favorite Financial Tip: "If you have term insurance and have determined that you absolutely must cancel it, or have purchased additional insurance with the intent of cancelling your old policy, don't! Most insurance companies offer a "Grace Period", of 30 days after the date the last premium was due until it lapses. If you cancel it, that's it! You no longer have that coverage. Instead, simply let it lapse (knowing that you will no longer be covered) this will give you a little extra time to be covered and you can still change your mind during the "Grace Period", if needed. If you have your premiums paid by an automatic bank draft every month, call the insurance company and ask them to stop debiting your account, rather than cancelling it outright."
Ben is an Accredited Wealth Management AdvisorSM professional.
